Access is software for creating and managing databases, created and supplied by Microsoft. It makes it possible to create databases, i.e. relational and dedicated programmes, either with templates or from scratch, via a graphical interface using the Microsoft Jet Database Engine. Access supports an object-based programming language called Visual Basic.The main application of Access is the storage of data in tables, with the possibility of importing or linking data from other applications and databases.
Access can handle large databases by offering functionality to enter data more easily and quickly, reducing the margin of error. In addition, it provides tools for creating and customising reports both on screen and for printing on paper with the possibility of taking data from more than one table if necessary. When dealing with large databases it is often complicated to find the records of interest, so Access provides tools for sorting, searching and creating specialised tools to find the records needed.
Access is also used for creating apps for use in the company, either from templates available in the software or by building them from the ground up using Visual Basics. To connect with apps, Access is equipped with a series of connectors.
